Overview
Diisopropanolamine ( CAS 110-97-4 ), commonly abbreviated as DIPA, is a secondary alkanolamine used across industrial and personal care formulations. It functions primarily as a pH regulator, neutralizing agent, and curing component, depending on the application.
Procurement teams source it as a cost-effective alternative to triethanolamine where lower viscosity or different reactivity profiles are required. In coatings and industrial fluids, DIPA neutralizes acidic resins and dispersants to stabilize emulsions.
