Aluminum nitrate

CAS: 13473-90-0

Overview

Aluminum nitrate (CAS 13473-90-0 ), also supplied as aluminium nitrate or aluminum trinitrate, is an inorganic aluminum salt used industrially as a coagulant, mordant, and chemical intermediate.

Its high solubility and aluminum ion availability make it effective for pH adjustment and flocculation across several process industries. In water treatment, it functions as a coagulant to destabilize suspended solids.

This supports clarification in municipal and industrial effluent systems by removing colloidal matter. Textile and leather processors use it as a mordant to fix dyes onto fiber substrates, improving color fastness.

It ensures uniformity in finished goods and is essential for high-quality textile production. In pulp and paper manufacturing, it supports retention aid programs and assists with pH regulation during wet-end chemistry.

Mining and metallurgical operations use it as a chemical intermediate in alumina processing. It also serves as a reagent in selective precipitation steps for various industrial extraction and purification processes.

Aluminum nitrate is commercially available as a crystalline solid, most commonly in the nonahydrate form. Standard supply grades include technical and industrial grades, with purity specifications typically ranging from 98% to 99%+.

Bulk quantities are available in bags or drums, with packaging options suited to both large-scale industrial users and laboratory or specialty buyers. Our supply chain ensures consistent quality for all industrial applications.
