In coatings and adhesives, Zn(acac)2 acts as a latent crosslinking agent for resin systems. It improves film hardness, adhesion, and chemical resistance without premature gelation during processing.

Polymer formulators use it as a catalyst precursor in the production of polyesters, polyurethanes, and specialty elastomers. It is ideal for applications where precise cure initiation is required.
