Overview
Cobalt sulfate (CAS 10124-43-3 ), also known as cobalt monosulfate, is an inorganic cobalt salt used across electroplating, battery manufacturing, and agricultural micronutrient applications.
It serves as a primary cobalt source in processes requiring controlled cobalt ion delivery at industrial scale. In electroplating and surface finishing, it is used in bath formulations to deposit cobalt.
These cobalt-alloy coatings improve hardness and wear resistance on metal components. Battery and energy storage manufacturers use it as a precursor in synthesizing cathode active materials for lithium-ion chemistries.
In agriculture, it is applied as a micronutrient supplement in fertilizers and animal feed to address cobalt deficiencies in livestock and soil. This ensures proper health and growth in various environments.
