Overview
Vinyltris(methylethylketoxime)silane (CAS 2224-33-1 ), also referenced in technical literature as Vinyltris(methylethylketoximino)silane, is an oxime-functional silane crosslinker used in the formulation of room-temperature-vulcanizing (RTV) silicone systems.
It releases methylethylketoxime upon moisture exposure, enabling controlled cure in one-component silicone sealants and coatings. Its primary use is as a crosslinker in neutral-cure RTV-1 silicone sealants.
The material provides good adhesion to glass, metals, and plastics without the acidity associated with acetoxy systems. This is a key advantage in construction and automotive glazing applications where substrate protection is vital.
In electronics, it is used in conformal coatings and potting compounds where corrosion-sensitive substrates require a non-corrosive cure chemistry. Silicone elastomer formulators use it to tune mechanical properties.
It helps adjust cure speed in industrial gaskets and sealing profiles. It also functions as a surface modifier in silicone-based adhesives, improving substrate compatibility and bond durability in demanding assembly processes.
The product is supplied as a clear to slightly yellow liquid in standard packaging ranging from drums to IBC containers. Technical-grade is the primary commercial form, with purity specifications typically at 98% or above.
Bulk supply is available for industrial formulators with consistent volume requirements. This chemical ensures high performance and stability in various industrial silicone applications across multiple global manufacturing sectors.
