Phenoxyethyl caprylate (CAS 23511-73-1 ), also marketed as Tegosoft XC, is a synthetic ester used as an emollient, solvent, and carrier in cosmetic and industrial formulations.

It combines the sensory properties of a light skin-feel ester with strong solvency for actives, pigments, and UV filters. In personal care, it functions as a spreading agent and solvent.

It is used in sunscreens, color cosmetics, and skin care products to dissolve organic UV filters and disperse pigments that are difficult to incorporate into standard emollient bases.
