Overview
Ureidopropyltriethoxysilane (CAS 23779-32-0 ), also known commercially as 3-Ureidopropyltriethoxysilane, is an organosilane coupling agent that bridges inorganic substrates and organic polymer matrices.
It improves adhesion at interfaces where standard silanes underperform, particularly with polar resins and moisture-exposed systems. In glass fiber-reinforced composites and filled plastics, it bonds mineral fillers.
This material is used with polyamide, epoxy, and polyurethane matrices, improving mechanical retention under humid conditions. Adhesive and sealant formulators use it as a primer or additive to enhance substrate adhesion.
It is effective on glass, metal, and concrete surfaces where long-term durability is required. In electronics encapsulants and underfill resins, it promotes interfacial adhesion between inorganic substrates and polar thermoset systems.
This supports reliability under thermal cycling. Automotive coatings and structural bonding applications use it to improve wet adhesion performance on treated metal and composite surfaces for industrial use.
Ureidopropyltriethoxysilane is supplied as a clear to slightly yellow liquid. It is available in technical grade, with purity typically specified at 95% or higher for various manufacturing requirements.
Packaging ranges from small drums for laboratory and formulation use to bulk quantities for industrial-scale production. The product is handled according to standard chemical safety and storage protocols.
