Maltitol

Maltitol ( CAS 585-88-6 ), also known by its food additive designation E965 , is a sugar alcohol derived from maltose used as a reduced-calorie bulk sweetener in food, pharmaceutical, and personal care manufacturing.

It delivers sweetness close to sucrose while supporting sugar-free and diabetic-friendly product claims without the aftertaste associated with high-intensity sweeteners. In confectionery and baked goods, it replaces sucrose in sugar-free chocolates.
