Overview

It functions primarily as a carbonylating agent and transesterification reagent, enabling solvent-free and phosgene-free reaction pathways that are increasingly preferred in industrial processing.
In polycarbonate production, DPC reacts with bisphenol A via melt transesterification to produce engineering-grade polycarbonates without the use of phosgene, making this route attractive for manufacturers.
