Overview
Diisodecyl phthalate (CAS 26761-40-0 ), commonly known as DIDP and sold under trade names such as Palatinol Z and Vestinol DZ, is a high-molecular-weight phthalate plasticizer for PVC and related polymer systems.
It functions as a primary plasticizer, imparting flexibility and durability to rigid formulations while offering lower volatility than lighter phthalate alternatives in industrial applications.
In wire and cable insulation, DIDP delivers the thermal stability and low migration needed for long-service electrical applications. Automotive interior components rely on DIDP for heat resistance and reduced fogging.
Dashboards, door panels, and underbody coatings utilize this material for its performance. Flooring, roofing membranes, and wall coverings in building and construction use DIDP to maintain flexibility across a wide service temperature range.
Sealants, adhesives, and rubber compounds also incorporate DIDP where low volatility and compatibility with high-filler systems are procurement priorities. It is supplied as a clear, low-viscosity liquid in bulk tankers.
IBC containers and drums are also standard packaging options. Technical grade is the standard commercial specification, with product typically meeting ISO and ASTM reference standards relevant to plasticizer purity and color.
Buyers should confirm isomer distribution and phthalate content with suppliers when sourcing for regulated end-use markets. This ensures compliance with specific regional safety and environmental requirements for manufacturing.
