Overview
Dipropylene glycol diacrylate (DPGDA, CAS 57472-68-1 ) is a bifunctional acrylate monomer used as a reactive diluent and crosslinker in UV- and EB-curable systems. It reduces formulation viscosity while contributing to network formation during cure.
This monomer gives formulators control over both processing and final film properties. In UV-curable inks and coatings for printing and packaging, it lowers viscosity to press-ready levels without sacrificing cure speed or crosslink density.
Radiation-curable wood and industrial coatings use it to balance flexibility and hardness in the cured film. In adhesive and sealant formulations, it functions as a crosslinking co-monomer that improves cohesive strength and chemical resistance.
Polymer and resin producers also incorporate it as a building block in acrylate oligomer synthesis and photopolymer systems. It is supplied as a clear liquid, typically in drum and IBC quantities suited to industrial formulation volumes.
The product is available in technical and industrial grades, with low-inhibitor or high-purity variants offered for demanding photopolymer applications. Specification alignment with standard reactive diluent benchmarks is common across major suppliers.
This chemical is essential for achieving high-performance results in modern radiation curing technologies. Its versatility makes it a staple component for manufacturers producing high-quality coatings, inks, and specialized adhesive products.
