Acridone

Acridone (CAS 578-95-0 ) is a heterocyclic lactam compound used industrially as a UV stabilizer, antioxidant, and as a core building block in the synthesis of high-performance pigments and dyes.

Its light-absorbing characteristics make it a valued intermediate in colorant chemistry and polymer stabilization systems. In plastics and polymer formulations, acridone derivatives function as UV absorbers and antioxidants.

These derivatives protect finished materials from photodegradation during outdoor or high-exposure use. The printing and packaging industry relies on acridone-based pigments for their strong color strength and lightfastness.
