Overview
Ethoxyquin (CAS 91-53-2 ), also known by its EU food additive designation E324 and the abbreviation EMQ, is a synthetic antioxidant used to prevent oxidative degradation in animal feed, fish meal, and agricultural commodities.
It protects fats, oils, and fat-soluble vitamins from rancidity during storage and transport, extending shelf life across feed and food ingredient supply chains. In aquaculture and livestock feed production, it is applied to fish meal and compound feeds.
This chemical inhibits lipid oxidation and preserves nutritional value through extended storage cycles. Spice and paprika processors use it to prevent color fading and oxidative spoilage in dried botanical ingredients during processing.
It also functions as a stabilizer for fat-soluble vitamins, particularly vitamins A and E, in premix formulations. This protects potency during pelleting and storage, ensuring the nutritional integrity of the final feed product.
In fruit handling, it has been used as a post-harvest treatment to prevent superficial scald on apples and pears during cold storage. This application helps maintain the aesthetic quality and marketability of fresh produce over time.
The product is supplied as an amber to dark brown liquid. Technical and feed-grade are the primary commercial grades, with purity levels typically at 95% or higher to meet industrial requirements for various applications.
Drum and IBC packaging are standard for bulk procurement to ensure safe handling and transport. Our supply chain ensures consistent quality and availability for large-scale agricultural and industrial operations globally.
