Dioctyl maleate

CAS: 2915-53-9

Overview

Dioctyl maleate ( CAS 2915-53-9 ), also known as DOM, is a reactive diester monomer used as both a plasticizer and a copolymerizable building block in polymer systems.

Unlike conventional plasticizers, it can be chemically incorporated into polymer backbones, reducing migration and improving long-term performance in finished materials.

In coatings and adhesives, DOM is copolymerized with acrylates, vinyl acetate, or styrene to modify film flexibility and adhesion characteristics without sacrificing durability.

Sealant and elastomer formulators use it to improve elongation and low-temperature compliance in cured systems. In PVC and other thermoplastic compounds, it functions as a reactive plasticizer.

Printing ink and packaging adhesive manufacturers incorporate it into emulsion polymerization processes to control rheology and substrate bonding in flexible laminate constructions.

Dioctyl maleate is supplied as a clear liquid, typically in drum and IBC quantities for industrial buyers. It is available in technical grade for polymer applications.

Bulk tanker supply is offered by select producers for high-volume compounding operations. This ensures a steady supply for large-scale manufacturing and industrial coating processes.
