Overview
Trimethyl Pentanyl Diisobutyrate ( CAS 6846-50-0 ), commercially known as TXIB, is a non-phthalate plasticizer and coalescing agent used across PVC processing and personal care formulation.
It reduces reliance on regulated phthalate plasticizers while maintaining performance in flexible polymer systems. In PVC compounding, TXIB functions as a secondary plasticizer and processing aid.
It improves flow and flexibility in flooring, wall coverings, and coated fabrics. Personal care formulators incorporate it into sunscreens, foundations, and skin-feel emollients for better results.
It reduces tackiness and improves spreadability without leaving a greasy residue. In waterborne coatings and latex systems, it acts as a coalescing agent, lowering the minimum film formation temperature.
This produces smooth, continuous films and serves as a carrier in fragrance delivery systems. Its low volatility helps extend scent retention in finished products for industrial applications.
TXIB is supplied as a clear liquid, typically in drum and IBC quantities suited to industrial procurement volumes. It is available in technical grade for polymer and coatings applications.
