Dexpanthenol

Dexpanthenol (CAS 81-13-0 ), also known as pantothenyl alcohol and D-pantothenol, is the biologically active alcohol analogue of pantothenic acid (vitamin B5). In both pharmaceutical and personal care manufacturing, it functions as a humectant and skin-conditioning agent.

This pro-vitamin converts to pantothenic acid upon absorption into the skin or hair. In topical pharmaceutical formulations, it is the active ingredient in wound-healing creams, nasal sprays, and eye drops, where it supports epithelial repair and tissue regeneration.
